Ultimate Guide on How to Remove Different Kinds of Stains

No matter how small, your attention will always be directed to that tiny little stain on your garment, clothes, or sofa. You will try to dismiss it, but the idea will keep haunting you until your day will turn sour. So to avoid being stressed all day just because of that stain, we have created a stain removal guide to help you address that daunting problem with stubborn stains.

Keep calm and refrain yourself from being frustrated by knowing more about the different types of stains and how you can easily remove them in your life – whether on clothing, furniture, carpet, and anywhere else in the house.

Blood stain

Immediate soak in water then gently rub the spot with blood using your finger (hands if too big). You may change the water if it turns pink (in case the blood stain is big). Rinse, blot, and soak in cold water for a couple of minutes before applying stain remover (could be detergent). Allow it to sit in before totally washing.

Red Wine stains

Blot excess wine from the garment. Cover the stain with a handful of salt. Allow it to settle and wait until the salt turns pink. Then soak overnight the garment into cold water with enzyme detergent. In the absence of enzyme detergent, you may also try using the mixture of hydrogen peroxide and liquid dish soap and use sponge in applying it on the stain.

Chocolate stains

Allow the chocolate to harden on garment or clothing before gently removing it. Pour in enough amount of laundry detergent and use soft-bristled toothbrush to spread the solution into the garment’s fiber. Rub gently and launder the garment in accordance to how the label direction.

Pet Urine stains

Aside from the stain, the smell of animal urine is predominantly annoying. So before you faint with its foul odor, treat it immediately by washing it immediately. If the smell is too much, you may add one tablespoon ammonia in a ½ cup of warm water before rinsing it.

Fruit Juice stains

Immediately rinse garment with cold water to dilute the stain. Pour in 1 teaspoon of mild detergent to a cup of lukewarm water and apply it on the stained area. Make sure that you have properly covered it before allowing it to sit in for 20 minutes. Once done, normally wash the garment and rinse thereafter.

Coffee & Tea stains

Quick tip: If treated immediately, the stain can just wear off by simply pouring cold water through the back of the garment and the stain will easily be removed. However, if this does not work, just rub an amount of liquid garment detergent using cold water on the stain. Soak it for five to ten minutes, then voila!

Final Note: Always remember that the most important part of removing the stain is removing it as soon as possible. The sooner you treat the stain, the better chances of totally removing it.
