The Best Way To Clean Different Types of Walls

Getting Ready to Clean the Walls
You have a lot of things to consider when you do deep cleaning. Walls can experience a lot, from typical scuffs and splatters to being mistaken for an art canvas. You or your maid can’t use the same scouring cleaners you usually use on them because they are one of the most fragile surfaces in your house. We’ll show you how to clean uncleaned walls and give you some pointers on how to clean them thoroughly, or you can just hire someone who can do house cleaning in Capistrano Beach.
Cleaning flat or eggshell paints: Avoid scrubbing or using abrasive cleansers since the finish could be more delicate.
Gloss or semi-gloss paints: Can take degreasing cleaners, but anything scrubby or abrasive can scratch the finish
Latex paints: Non-abrasive cleaners and warm water
Textured walls: Soft-bristled scrub brush and mild cleaners
Wallpapers: Non-abrasive sponge or cloth; be sure to have a towel to soak up excess liquid immediately to prevent damage to the adhesive (refer to manufacturer’s instructions if possible)
Getting a clean wall can be as simple as following these 8 steps
1. Clean up the area
Before you or your maid start the deep cleaning, remove any furniture that might be in the way and any wall art or other items hanging from the walls. Afterward, place some towels by the baseboards to shield your floor from spills and drips.
2. Clean the Walls.
Next, dust the entire wall’s surface using a duster or a microfiber cloth. Use a handheld vacuum or a vacuum with a brush and hose attachment for larger dust bunnies and abandoned spiderwebs.
3. Determine What to Use to Wash the Walls
Warm water and a soft sponge or cloth may be sufficient to clean walls that only require a light cleaning. You should be able to use a degreasing cleaner to clean glossy or semi-gloss-painted walls in the kitchen and bathroom. Avoid using colored cleaners, sponges, and fibers since the dye may stain the wall.
4. Wash the Entire Wall Surface
Wash the entire wall with the cleaner of your choice before focusing on the finer details. If necessary, fill a pail with warm water and your mild cleaner. After that, begin at the top left and work your way down, left to right. Move the fabric gently in a circle to prevent streaking or missing spots.
5. Clean Up Leftover Stains, Scuffs, and Marks
Leftover stains, scuffs, and marks need deep cleaning. Try using a soft cloth, some additional soap, and some elbow grease to remove any remaining stains or discoloration. Additionally, you can make a paste of baking soda and water as cleaners and use that to scrub away stains gently.
6. Rinse the Walls.
Dump out the bucket when you’ve finished washing the walls, and then fill it with clean, warm water. Next, dip a clean cloth in the water, wring it out, and dry it. Rinse off the cloth as necessary. Then, clean the entire wall surface to remove any remaining dirt and detergents.
7. Touch Up the Paint If Needed
Despite your best efforts in deep cleaning, some stains and discolorations on your walls might not be removable. If so, use light, feathery strokes to gently touch up the area using a paintbrush and matching paint.
8. Give the walls time to dry
Once they’re all clean, dab any remaining moisture off the walls with a cleaner such as a towel or a microfiber cloth. Open your windows on a warm, dry day to let the breeze hasten the drying process.
If you cannot find the time or have difficulty deep cleaning your house, you may want to hire a domestic cleaner like Maggy Maid House Cleaning in Capistrano Beach.
